The SARS-COV-2 test from Immunosciences Lab is a blood draw test that detects the levels of antibodies against Covid-19, in order to measure an individuals’ immune response to the virus.
Antibodies against Covid-19 can be the result of either infection from the virus or vaccination against it. If antibody levels are high, it suggests a good immune response to Covid-19, whereas low antibody levels suggest low immune response. Very high levels that sit beyond the upper reference ranges suggest current infection from Covid-19.
This test is useful for those with impaired health or innocuous symptoms, as it can help to ensure individuals have adequate immunity against Covid-19. If their results show they have low antibody levels against Covid-19, vaccination may be recommended.
