The Long Covid Panel identifies the presence of antibodies from three different viruses, including Covid-19, to detect the presence of autoimmune reactivity and prevent future autoimmune disease development.

The Long Covid Panel from Immunosciences Lab is a blood draw test that measures the levels of antibodies from three viruses (Covid-19, Epstein-Barr virus and human herpesvirus 6), which may play a significant role in contributing towards inflammation and autoimmune disorders. High levels of antibodies may suggest autoimmune reactivity which, if not addressed, can eventually lead to the development of autoimmune disease.
Autoimmune diseases are the result of genetic and environmental factors which impact the immune system. Environmental factors include exposure to infectious pathogens (including the three listed above), which can cause autoimmunity through molecular mimicry between pathogenic viruses and human tissues.
This mimicry occurs when antibodies produced against viral antigens also attack the body’s own tissues. It is thought that subsequent viral infections further aggravate the disease by activating the immune response against viral and self-antigens.
This test is recommended for those who are genetically predisposed to autoimmune disease, or who have a history of exposure to environmental risk factors (such as infections from Covid-19, Epstein-Barr virus and human herpesvirus 6).
This test requires a blood sample via a blood draw procedure, which must be performed by a doctor or phlebotomist. To book a blood draw, please see ‘Find a blood draw’ at regeneruslabs.com.
Your sample is sent to Regenerus UK for processing and then forwarded to Immunosciences Lab in the USA for analysis.
