The Kryptopyrroles & HPU 24 Hours Urine Test identifies two types of raised levels of pyrroles in the urine, which are HPU (hydroxy hemopyrrollactamuria) and KPL (kryptopyrroluria).
Elevated pyrroles are related to conditions such as autism, schizophrenia, ADHD, bi-polar disorder and alcoholism. Contributing factors include nutritional deficiencies (particularly vitamin B6 and zinc), and stress. Therefore, identifying raised levels can help to explore root causes, and guide useful nutritional, supplemental and lifestyle interventions.
This test requires two urine collections, taken over the course of three days.
