DNA Smile® analyses 12 gene variations to report on the status of oral health, as well as individual predisposition for developing periodontal disease, cavities and other systemic diseases. Research shows that the risk of periodontal disease is linked to the risk of other chronic conditions, including cancer, diabetes and cognitive decline. Therefore, DNA Smile® helps to improve overall health as well as oral health, by identifying potential genetic weaknesses that can be offset through bespoke protocol.
The three key areas analysed by DNA Smile® are innate immunity, inflammation and acquired immunity, and sweet tooth. Reporting on these areas can help to identify risk factors for periodontal disease as well as other chronic conditions, and so guide appropriate interventions to reduce their risk of developing.
This test requires four blood spots (collected on one card) from a single finger prick.
