DNA Mind® analyses 29 genes which are significantly associated with mental health disorders, to give insight into prevention, diagnosis and treatment of conditions. These disorders are grouped into neurodegenerative conditions (cognitive decline, Alzheimer’s disease), mood disorders (depression, bipolar disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder) and addictive behaviour (risk of alcohol, nicotine and cannabis dependence, eating disorders).
Both genetic and environmental factors can influence the development of mental disorders. This means that determining an individual’s heritability of such conditions can help to guide lifestyle, diet and supplement recommendations to optimise the treatment of, or prevent the risk of, mental health disorders.
This test requires four blood spots (collected on one card) from a single finger prick.
