The B. Burgdorferi IgG, IgM by Western Blot test from Immunosciences Lab uses Western Blot methodology to identify the presence of Lyme disease, by testing for B. burgdorferi IgG and IgM antibodies. If Lyme disease is identified, appropriate interventions can be addressed.
Lyme disease triggers an autoimmune response in the body as a result of infection from Borrelia burgdorferi, a bacterium transferred to humans via tick bites. The Western Blot method reports reactivity against ten different proteins found on the Lyme bacteria (B. burgdorferi). It is often used as a follow up after ELISA testing, to confirm the presence of Lyme disease.
This test is recommended for those who suspect they may be suffering from Lyme disease.
This test requires a blood sample via a blood draw procedure, which must be performed by a doctor or phlebotomist. To book a blood draw, please see ‘Find a blood draw’ at regeneruslabs.com.
Your sample is sent to Regenerus UK for processing and then forwarded to Immunosciences Lab in the USA for analysis.
