About the test

The B. Burgdorferi IgG, IgM by ELISA test from Immunosciences Lab uses ELISA (Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) methodology to identify the presence of Lyme disease by testing for B. burgdorferi  IgG and IgM antibodies.

Lyme disease triggers an autoimmune response in the body as a result of infection from Borrelia burgdorferi, a bacterium transferred to humans via tick bites. The ELISA method measures the levels of antibodies against Borrelia burgdorferi to identify the presence of Lyme disease and help to inform treatment.

The ELISA method is internationally recognised as the gold standard for antibody testing in the blood, but it is often recommended to perform a Western Blot test to confirm a positive ELISA result.

This test is recommended for those who suspect they may be suffering from Lyme disease.

This test requires a blood sample via a blood draw procedure, which must be performed by a doctor or phlebotomist. To book a blood draw, please see ‘Find a blood draw’ at regeneruslabs.com.

Your sample is sent to Regenerus UK for processing and then forwarded to Immunosciences Lab in the USA for analysis.

Disclaimer: This test is only available through a Healthpath Pro practitioner.
